Terms of Use

What you agree to when you use Versen, in plain English.

Last updated 29 October 2026

Pilot draft. This is the version for Versen's pilot clubs while it's reviewed. Words in [square brackets] are still to be filled in, and we'll tell you before a final version takes effect.

1. About these terms

By creating an account, applying to a club or registering for an event on Versen, you agree to these terms. Versen is run by [legal entity name, ABN] (“Versen”, “we”).

  • Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
  • If you run a club on Versen, the Club Terms also apply to you and your club.
  • Your club may have its own rules, such as a code of conduct or a refund policy. Those are between you and the club.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or over to have a Versen account. Under-18s can take part only where a parent or guardian registers them for a club's public event.

  • One account per person, in your own name, with details that are true and up to date.
  • You can apply to a club or register for an event without an account. These terms still apply, and your guest link works like a password.
  • Don't share your password. Tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You're responsible for what's done through your account.

3. Your passport and what you add

What you add to Versen stays yours. You give us permission to store it, back it up and show it to the people you've chosen, so Versen can work. That permission ends when you delete it or your account, apart from backups and what clubs keep as their records.

  • Your profile page is public by default, and search engines can index it. You choose its visibility in your passport.
  • Your self-reported journey, achievements and tournament teams are labelled as your own, not verified by a club. Keep them accurate.
  • Verified history is issued by a club. If it's wrong, you can dispute it with the club in Versen.
  • Once you share something with a club, the club holds it as its own record.

Versen itself is ours. The software, design, name and logo belong to Versen. You may use Versen as these terms allow, but you can't copy, resell or reverse-engineer it.

4. Acceptable use

Use Versen for playing and running sport, honestly and with respect for other people. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Other people's details. Add someone else's details only with their agreement: an emergency contact, the people in a group registration, or team-mates named in a fee request.

Don't:

  • pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your history, a club or anyone else;
  • harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
  • collect information about players from Versen in bulk, by scraping or any other means;
  • use details you see in Versen, such as a team-mate's contact details, for anything other than the club's activities;
  • try to get into accounts, clubs or data you aren't allowed to see, or to disrupt Versen;
  • add content that's unlawful, or that you don't have the right to share.

Reporting a problem. Tell us if you think someone is breaking these terms, has sent spam through Versen, or has added something that infringes your rights. We'll look into it and may remove content or suspend accounts.

5. Videos, YouTube and club files

Whoever adds a video or a file link is responsible for having the right to share it. Versen doesn't check.

  • Versen uses YouTube API Services. By using Versen's video features you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (opens in a new tab).
  • Add only videos you're entitled to share and that don't misrepresent anyone. The content belongs to YouTube and its uploaders.
  • Share only files you're entitled to share, and keep members' personal details, such as contact or medical spreadsheets, to the committee. A file opens on the service it's kept on, under that service's terms.
  • We may remove a video or link.

6. Clubs, applications and selection

Each club runs itself, and Versen provides the tools. Selection, membership and team decisions are the club's, not Versen's.

  • The club decides who it selects and why. Selectors may score applicants against the club's criteria, and you won't see the scores.
  • If you're selected, your outcome email offers you a place. Offers lapse if you don't answer within 7 days.
  • A club's owner can remove you from the club. Your records from ended seasons and your fees stay with the club, and you can still pay what you owe. Questions about a removal go to the club.
  • Registering for a public event doesn't make you a club member. Any waiver the club asks you to accept is between you and the club.

7. Paying clubs

When you pay a club, the club is the seller, not Versen. Your payment goes into the club's own Stripe account, and refunds and disputes are between you and the club. Stripe's terms (opens in a new tab) apply to the payment.

  • Club fees are set by the club, which decides any refunds.
  • Paying to apply for a team doesn't secure a place. Refunds are the club's decision and are never automatic, even if you withdraw.
  • Public event refunds follow the club's cancellation terms shown on the event. By registering you confirm you're 18 or over, and that everyone you register has agreed.
  • We email a receipt for each online payment on the club's behalf, as a record of the payment. Ask the club if you need a tax invoice.
  • If you ask a club to charge your team for something, describe it truthfully and name only team-mates it applies to. The club decides whether to charge it, and paying you back is between you and the club.
  • You pay exactly what the club charges. Any fee Versen takes is paid by the club.

8. Emails we send you

We email you about your account, your clubs' events, your applications, your fees and your payments; the Privacy Policy lists them. You choose which event emails you get in your account.

Event emails have answer buttons that work without signing in, so anyone you forward one to can answer for you until the event starts. Calendar links work the same way: anyone with the link sees your events.

9. Versen's role and liability

Versen is in a pilot. We work hard to keep it running and your information safe, but it may change, have errors or be unavailable at times.

  • Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded.
  • We're not responsible for what clubs or other users do, including selection decisions, events, refunds, or content they add.
  • Versen may be briefly unavailable while we update it, or because of problems with our providers or the internet.
  • We keep backups for 4 weeks so we can recover from a failure. We can't promise to restore something you or a club deleted.
  • We're not responsible for failures caused by things we can't reasonably control, such as a provider outage, a natural disaster or a cyber attack we couldn't reasonably have prevented.
  • To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect loss. Where our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee can be limited, it's limited to supplying the service again.

10. Ending, changes and contact

You can delete your account at any time from your Account page, unless you owe a club money or are a club's only owner. The Privacy Policy explains what's deleted and what clubs keep.

  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, usually after telling you why.
  • We'll tell you about significant changes to these terms by email or in Versen before they take effect. If you keep using Versen, you accept them.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of [state], Australia.
  • Contact us with any question about them.

11. General

  • These terms, the Privacy Policy and, for clubs, the Club Terms are the whole agreement between you and Versen about Versen.
  • If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, it's read down as little as needed and the rest still applies.
  • If we don't act on a breach straight away, we can still act later.
  • You can't transfer your account or these terms. We may transfer them to someone who takes over Versen, and we'll tell you if we do.
  • We send notices to your sign-in email or show them in Versen.
  • Headings and the plain style make these terms easier to read; they don't change what the terms mean.
